The Learning Network is a site/blog sponsored by the New York Times. The Learning Network is a current site, updated every school day, that offers a wealth of high quality learning resources — lesson plans, student opinion questions, challenges, crossword puzzles, etc. — for teachers and students in grades 3-12. For example, a periodic math “Test Yourself” question is posted that is not only challenging, but is related to some event that is current. While The Learning Network’s ideas are related to current events and designed to be used with articles from the New York Times, many of the activities can be adapted to be used for other topics. This is definitely a site that is worth taking some time to explore!
