Wordle is a site that creates word clouds from text that is typed or copied and pasted into the text box on the site. I have to admit, the first time I was introduced to Wordle I thought it was a cool website, but I didn’t see much educational application. Since then, I realized that Wordle is a great tool for using in classrooms of all grade levels. Wordles can be used as a pre or post learning activity. It can be used to practice spelling and vocabulary words and as a summarizing tool. It can help students improve their writing by showing them words that are used more often.
